The Texas Night Sky Festival will be held Saturday, March 5, 2016, from 3pm to 10 pm at the Dripping Springs Ranch Park and Event Center at 1042 Event Center Drive in Dripping Springs. Individuals and families are invited to attend a FREE celebration of the Texas night sky with something for everyone, from kids to astronomers. The festival will feature fun activities and include the display of festival specific photo and art contests, solar observations, a Discovery Dome planetarium, exhibits from Texas Dark Sky places, demonstrations of glare-reducing lighting, special NASA displays, opportunities to meet astronomers, a dark sky silent auction, tasty food, live music, and a good, old-fashioned Star Party. In addition, there will be engaging exhibits and hands-on activities for all ages, as well as opportunities for kids to earn patches or scouting badges. Special speakers who will weave tales of the night sky from Lakota tradition, and from Greek and Roman mythology. WAG Rescue Dog Adoption Day - Saturday, March 12, from 11 am - 3 pm at King Feed, 14210 Ranch Road 12 in Wimberley. Adopt a new best friend! Come meet some of the dogs and puppies available for adoption. All available adult dogs have been fully vetted, are heartworm negative, are micro chipped and have been spayed or neutered. Puppies have been vetted, parvo tested, de-wormed and have had their shots current for their age and are micro chipped. WAG Rescue provides a spay/neuter voucher through Emancipet. Circles of Friends Program for Seniors with Moderate Memory Loss is held each Thursday, 10 am – 2:30 pm at the Wimberley Community Center located at 14608 Ranch Road 12. This group offers seniors suffering from moderate memory loss a chance for social engagement in a safe, supportive environment, while providing a break for their primary caregiver from the demands of providing round-the-clock care for their loved one.
