WVR recommends setting up a personal visit so that a programming volunteer can answer your questions to simplify the application process. You can do that with the person who contacts you, whether by phone or email. Or just email the station at wimberleyvalleyradio@gmail.com or call (512) 722-3266. 

Most people print the form and fill out the majority, using it as a worksheet and then call to set up a meeting to discuss any questions and get help. They still have the option of submitting it from the web form.

All questions (except the final one) require a response. If a particular question is not applicable, just enter N/A. If you do not get a thank you message indicating your response has been received, please make sure all fields were filled out and try again.

Once done, please send as an attachment to the email address above, or mail it to PO Box 3128, Wimberley, TX 78676.

Some tips to consider before filling out the form on the website: Please make sure you scroll or tab to the bottom and that you see a Submit button. If you do not see one, then use the link to access the form – or email the address above to have a copy emailed to you.

Supplementary Information Needed

For music shows (with or without interviews), WVR would like 2 sample play lists. If your proposed music show includes musician interviews, WVR would appreciate a list of sample interview questions. 

For public affairs and informational shows, list 5 topics that might be covered in your show. Pick one of those to further develop and outline for a show. 

Sample playlists and outlines may be uploaded and submitted, or emailed to us at wimberleyvalleyradio@gmail.com. If you have previously recorded audio or video interviews, please send us a link so we can listen, or send us an audio file (.mp3 format preferred). 

If submitting outlines, sample playlists, or audio, please name files with your first and last names, followed by an underscore, then file type. For two of the same kinds of files, please number them 1 or 2. Example: JaneDoe_outline2. If you are not able to submit those at this time, you may email those later as attachments to wimberleyvalleyradio@gmail.com. 


Audio samples for 30 minute show should actually consist of two 13-minute segments. For an hour show, submit four 13-minute segments. The break allows the station to insert station identifications and other announcements.

The Programming Advisory Task Force meets monthly to review show proposals and will contact you if we need more information, have suggestions, or to schedule a sample recording session.

If you have trouble with the form, please download a copy and send it to us by email at wimberleyvalleyradio@gmail.com or phone (512) 722-3266 for help. If you submit online but don't see an acknowledgement confirming that your proposal has been successfully sent, it is likely some field was left blank. Go back and enter something in it (even if only N/A) and try to submit again. If you are not contacted within a few days, please double-check to make sure we received it.
